Ingredients
Makes about 24 cookies
-
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
-
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
-
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
-
1/4 teaspoon salt
-
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
-
1 cup granulated sugar
-
1 large egg
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1/2 teaspoon cotton candy flavoring (LorAnn brand or similar)
-
Pink and blue food coloring (gel recommended)
-
Optional: sprinkles, edible glitter, or cotton candy bits for topping
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat & Prep
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2: Make the Dough
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
-
In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
-
Beat in the egg, vanilla, and cotton candy flavoring until fully combined.
Step 3: Add Colors
-
Gradually add dry ingredients into the wet, mixing just until a soft dough forms.
-
Divide dough evenly into two bowls. Tint one with pink food coloring and the other with blue.
-
Mix each until evenly colored.
Step 4: Marble the Dough
-
Take small pieces of each color dough and gently press them together. Roll lightly into a ball without overmixing to keep the swirl effect.
-
Place dough balls 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets. Flatten slightly with your palm.
Step 5: Bake
-
Bake for 9–11 minutes or until edges are set but centers are still soft (don’t overbake!).
-
Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
