Ingredients

Scale

Makes about 24 cookies

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon cotton candy flavoring (LorAnn brand or similar)

  • Pink and blue food coloring (gel recommended)

  • Optional: sprinkles, edible glitter, or cotton candy bits for topping

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prep

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2: Make the Dough

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).

  • Beat in the egg, vanilla, and cotton candy flavoring until fully combined.

Step 3: Add Colors

  • Gradually add dry ingredients into the wet, mixing just until a soft dough forms.

  • Divide dough evenly into two bowls. Tint one with pink food coloring and the other with blue.

  • Mix each until evenly colored.

Step 4: Marble the Dough

  • Take small pieces of each color dough and gently press them together. Roll lightly into a ball without overmixing to keep the swirl effect.

  • Place dough balls 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets. Flatten slightly with your palm.

Step 5: Bake

  • Bake for 9–11 minutes or until edges are set but centers are still soft (don’t overbake!).

  • Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
