1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
-
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1: Prep Your Pan
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy lifting.
Step 2: Make the Brownie Batter
-
In a bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth.
-
Add eggs and vanilla; whisk until combined.
-
Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined.
-
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Step 3: Make the Cookie Dough
-
In another bowl, cream softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until fluffy.
-
Add egg and vanilla, beat well.
-
Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt.
-
Fold in chocolate chips.
-
Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie batter. Gently press to spread a bit (it’ll spread more in the oven).
Step 4: Bake
-
Bake for 30–35 minutes or until the cookie top is golden and a toothpick comes out with a few fudgy crumbs.
-
Let cool completely in the pan before slicing.
