Lemon Brownies Recipe – Fudgy, Zesty, and Glazed to Perfection!

For the Lemon Brownies:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

  • 2 large eggs

  • Zest of 1 large lemon

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Lemon Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 23 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional for garnish)


Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2: Make the Lemon Brownie Batter

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.

  • In another bowl, whisk eggs, melted butter, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla until smooth.

  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring just until no streaks of flour remain (do not overmix).

Step 3: Bake

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the center is set and edges are lightly golden.

  • Let cool completely in the pan before glazing.

Step 4: Prepare the Glaze

 

  • In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice until smooth and pourable.

  • Spread over cooled lemon brownies.

  • Garnish with extra zest if desired.

  • Let the glaze set for about 20 minutes before slicing into squares.
