Sweet Chili Chicken Recipe: Sticky, Spicy, and Unbelievably Good

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 tablespoon oil (vegetable or olive oil)

For the Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon garlic (minced)

  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger (optional)

Optional Garnish:

  • Sesame seeds

  • Sliced green onions


Instructions

  • Coat chicken pieces lightly with cornstarch, salt, and pepper.

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Add chicken and cook 5–7 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove excess oil if needed.

  • Mix sauce ingredients in a bowl: sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger.

  • Pour sauce into skillet with the chicken. Toss to coat. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until thick and sticky.

 

  • Serve hot over rice or noodles. Top with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
