  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 oz dark chocolate
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Melt the butter and dark chocolate together in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  4. Fold in the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture.
  5. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the chocolate batter.
  7. Spoon the batter into madeleine molds, filling them halfway.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are just set.
  9. Let the madeleines cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Serve warm with a dusting of powdered sugar on top.
