Delicious Cheesy Baked Chicken & Mushroom Casserole

Cheesy Baked Chicken & Mushroom Casserole made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups cooked chicken shredded
  • 2 cups mushrooms sliced
  • 1 cup cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, sliced mushrooms, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the mixture.
  5. If desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top of the cheese.
  6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
