Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup diced apples peeled
  • 1/2 cup caramel bits or chopped caramel candies

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture and mix until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the diced apples and caramel bits until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
