Prepare the filling by combining cream cheese, cheddar cheese, diced jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, and optional cilantro in a mixing bowl.
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth out creases.
Cut the puff pastry into evenly-sized strips, approximately 2 inches wide.
Spread a layer of the filling on each strip and fold them in half lengthwise.
Twist each folded strip several times, being careful to keep the filling from spilling out.
Place the twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush each twist with the egg wash and season with salt and pepper.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
Allow the twists to cool for a few minutes before serving.
