Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb pork sausage
  • 2 large onions finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1 package puff pastry two sheets
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced onions and cook until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Stir in the thyme, salt, and pepper to the cooked onions.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and let cool slightly.
  6. In a bowl, combine the sausage, cooled onions, and grated Gruyère cheese.
  7. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into rectangles.
  8. Place a spoonful of filling on one end of each rectangle and roll to enclose.
  9. Place the rolls seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
  10. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  12. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
