Savory Slow-Cooked Polish Sausage with Sauerkraut

Crockpot Polish Sausage Sauerkraut And Potatoes made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 3-4 medium potatoes diced
  • 1 pound Polish sausage sliced
  • 1 jar 24 oz sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Prepare the ingredients: wash and dice the potatoes, slice the sausage, and chop the onion and garlic.
  2. Layer the diced potatoes on the bottom of the crockpot.
  3. Add the sliced Polish sausage over the potatoes.
  4. Spread the drained sauerkraut on top of the sausage.
  5. Add the sliced onions and minced garlic next.
  6. Pour the chicken broth evenly over the ingredients.
  7. Sprinkle caraway seeds, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until potatoes are tender.
  9. Once cooked, give the mixture a gentle stir before serving.
